Our advisory team at Fidelis Vox comprises a group of highly experienced professionals, including Marteen Michau, Suzanne Smit, Paul Michau, Tamryn de Villiers, Nobuhle Mbanjwa, Jean Michau, Tevyn Matthysen and Anzelle Wheeler.
Marteen Michau
Director
Marteen is a CA(SA) with B.Iuris and LL.B degrees.
She is a specialist in providing personalised fiduciary and tax advice to high-net-worth clients and their families. Her services include assisting clients with trusts, estate planning, structuring, wills, trusteeships, and executorships. With thirty years of experience in the fiduciary and tax industry, Marteen has worked as a legal and tax manager at PwC and as the head of fiduciary advisory divisions at RMB Private Bank and Sanlam Private Wealth.
She is also committed to empowering the youth in South Africa by equipping them with specialised skills. Over the years, she has appointed and developed young people, enabling them to excel in professional roles.
Marteen has developed a training course to assist trustees, including the next generation when taking on the responsibility of serving on the boards of family trusts, employee incentive trusts, and other trusts. She also conducts workshops with families to record their family charter and ensure that their structures and planning align with their goals. She was admitted as a non-practising advocate in 1988 and is a member of the following professional bodies:

Marteen is passionate about wildlife conservation in South Africa and dedicates a significant amount of her time towards this cause. She is a qualified advanced scuba diver and field guide, reflecting her love for nature and the outdoors.
Suzanne Smit
Fiduciary and Tax Consultant
Suzanne earned her LL.B in 2007, which she completed while on an exchange program at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. She completed her B.Com. (Accounting and Law) in 2006. In 2008, she moved to London with her husband and worked as an immigration consultant until they returned to South Africa in 2011. She commenced her articles in August 2011 and was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in January 2013.
In June 2013, Suzanne joined a Big 4 audit firm where she specialised in resolving tax disputes. She was appointed as the tax account leader for three corporate clients, including two leading multinational companies and a domestic listed company, during her tenure. Additionally, she completed her LL.M (Tax) in 2015.
Suzanne began working with a Swiss financial services firm in June 2017, where she joined the cross-border tax and exchange control team. The team assisted high-net-worth individuals and corporate clients with cross-border tax and exchange control advisory services, as well as tax dispute resolution matters. In October 2019, Suzanne decided to become an independent tax specialist and continued her work in these areas of specialisation.
Suzanne became a member of Fidelis Vox in March 2021 to enhance and broaden our client service portfolio. She is affiliated with the following professional organisations:

Suzanne is a published author and is contented when travelling to new destinations with her husband and two daughters.
She is an active SAIT member contributing regularly to, inter alia, the Tax Talk magazine and participating in the annual Tax Indaba. She also serves on its tax administration and wealth, and family business tax technical work groups.
Paul Michau
Director and Business Manager
Paul holds B.Com. Hons. (Accounting) and B.Com. Hons. (Economics) degrees, a CA(SA) and is also a member of SAICA.
Paul is an accomplished financial expert with over 30 years of experience as a chief financial officer, general manager and managing director in various corporate institutions. He has managed divisions with annual turnovers exceeding R1 billion. Paul is also a qualified business coach, having earned certification from Action Coach.
In his role as the business manager of Fidelis Vox, Paul's vast experience is invaluable, enabling him to understand clients' businesses and structures, and advise them on appropriate solutions. He is passionate about helping others to leverage opportunities to their best advantage and achieve their goals.
He also has a passion for nature and the outdoors and is a qualified field and trails guide, as well as an advanced scuba diver.
Tamryn de Villiers
Attorney
Tamryn de Villiers is an accomplished attorney admitted to the High Court of South Africa. Tamryn completed her articles at a Johannesburg law firm specialising in commercial property law and also holds a BA (HMS) and an LL.B degree. Her dissertation was focused on international succession regulations and their impact on estate planning in South Africa.
Tamryn is committed to staying at the forefront of her field, having attended a course on Private International Law at the University of Salzburg in Austria. Her expertise in fiduciary and estate planning is an invaluable asset to the team at Fidelis Vox. She heads up the wills and deceased estates divisions.
Tamryn’s attention to detail, combined with her passion for estate planning, ensures that our clients receive the most comprehensive and effective advice.
Nobuhle Mbanjwa
Fiduciary consultant
Nobuhle Mbanjwa holds a B.Com. Accounting (Cum Laude), a postgraduate diploma in financial management and working towards being a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
She is a fiduciary consultant at Fidelis Vox and specialises in the drafting of SA and offshore wills and deceased estates administration.
She is a qualified Zumba instructor, who also enjoys cooking and trying out new recipes.
Jean Michau
General Manager
Jean brings a wealth of expertise to Fidelis Vox as a holder of a B.Sc. Hons. (Quantity Surveying) degree. As the head of the CRM, process flow, and invoicing systems, he ensures seamless business operations for our clients. In addition, Jean expertly manages all aspects of both SA and offshore trusts, providing clients with the utmost confidence in their fiduciary affairs.
Jean's role extends beyond day-to-day operations as he is also involved in budgeting and debtors' control. He has extensive experience in managing document lodgements with the various Master’s offices in South Africa.
Jean's interests extend beyond the boardroom as he is a qualified nature guide with specialised knowledge of birds across two different biomes in South Africa. He loves spending his time surrounded by nature and is an avid bird watcher and wildlife photographer. In his free time, Jean can be found playing water polo and dodgeball or exploring new birding locations.
Tevyn Matthysen
Fiduciary Consultant
Tevyn recently joined the Fidelis Vox team as a Trust Administrator, diving into the industry with enthusiasm and a keen willingness to learn. Despite being new to the field, she quickly absorbed a great deal of knowledge and is committed to applying her skills to effectively help manage client trusts and compliance.
Tevyn graduated cum laude with a diploma in Marketing. Outside of work, she is a certified personal trainer and nutritional consultant.She loves challenging herself through fitness, exploring new activities, and enjoying the outdoors. Tevyn’s passion for continuous learning and personal growth drives her to excel both professionally and personally.
Anzelle Wheeler
Fiduciary Consultant
Anzelle is a Fiduciary Consultant and a final year LLB student at the University of South Africa (UNISA) with a strong background in law. Over the past seven years, she has gained valuable knowledge and experience as both an Estate and Litigation Administrator. Anzelle’s passion lies in the administration of wills and estates, and she finds fulfilment in every aspect of this field.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Anzelle is a passionate individual who enjoys reading, cooking, and cherishing quality time with her family.
