Fidelis Vox recently added Tax and Exchange Control advisory services to complement its current client service offering. In an increasingly complex domestic and international tax law environment, we provide tailored tax and exchange control solutions from a domestic and offshore perspective. Our global network and integrated service offering enable us to mitigate potential pitfalls and tax non-compliance to our clients. Our advice adheres to domestic tax laws and international tax standards including the OECD’s directives specifically in relation to tax transparency.

We are happy to welcome Suzanne Smit to our team from 1 March 2021, who will be the consultant advising on the above services.
Suzanne obtained her LL.B degree in 2007 after completing her final semester as an exchange student at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. She completed her B. Comm degree in Accounting and Law in 2006. After moving to London with her husband in 2008, she worked as an immigration consultant until they returned to South Africa in 2011. She served her articles from August 2011 and was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in January 2013.
In June 2013, Suzanne joined a Big 4 audit firm. During her tenure, she specialised in tax dispute resolution and was appointed as the Tax Account Leader for three corporate clients, including two leading multinational companies and a domestic listed company. She completed her LL.M (Tax) in 2016.
In June 2017, Suzanne joined the cross-border tax and exchange control team at a Swiss financial services firm specializing in assisting high-net worth individuals and corporate clients with cross-border tax and exchange control advisory, as well as tax dispute resolution matters.
In October 2019 she decided to consult independently as a tax specialist continuing in these fields of specialisation.
Suzanne joined Fidelis Vox in March 2021 to compliment and expand its client service offering.
She is a member of the following professional bodies:
- South African Institute of Tax Professionals (SAIT): Master Tax Practitioner (SA)™
- Fiduciary Institute of South Africa (FISA).
She is an active SAIT member contributing regularly to, inter alia, the Tax Talk magazine and participating in the annual Tax Indaba. She serves on SAIT’s Tax Administration and Wealth and Family Business Tax Technical Work Groups.
